Hello everyone! I can actually say I've thoroughly enjoyed this site though I am new to it. As I am new to the Dallas area, and getting to know people here it's nice to find people who think with similar interests to me without trying to pick that person out of the crowd in a bar.

I enjoy meeting all types of individuals. I know I am a loud, honest and witty individual, and it makes life interesting to meet different personas. For some reason though opposite personas do not seem to work out.

As for what is going on in my life now, I am currently going through a divorce from the person who I thought would love me for life, but she decided against that. Divorce is not fun, but I try to always stay positive. I have two choices through this: I can either sulk or try and move on with my life and learn from the situation. As I said I'm positive so I'm geared towards the latter of the two statements.

I am in a great career and I love what I do for a living though it is a very random on my schedule. I love getting to help and meet new people and my job allows me to do that every day. The great part is I get to meet with people of all ages and generations. If you ever want to know what it is like to experience life, go to a senior center and just talk about everything they experienced in life. It really makes you open your eyes to the world around you. I think having that perspective has been a large help in shaping me.

I have 2 great dogs Raine and Zelda. Raine is a big mut but the sweetest dog in the world, and Zelda is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. My dogs love attention, and I give them as much of it as I can. They are truly a blessing to have. When I have a bad day, they always make me feel better because their love shows no limits. I wonder why humans do not love to this extreme? I'm going to work on that.

In April of 2009 I was discharged from the United States Marine Corps. I moved to Rochester, New York where I received my New York Unarmed Officerâ??s License and worked for Monroe Protective Services. I then moved to Colonial Beach, Virginia where I worked aboard a crabbing vessel under the command of Captain Studds. I then moved to Texas where I was hired by Force One Security Solutions. In September of 2009, I completed the training and testing for my Texas State Level I and Level II Non-commissioned Officerâ??s License. In October of 2009 I advanced my training by completing the Texas State Level III Commissioned Armed Officerâ??s License training. I was found to be proficient with a 9mm, .40, .45, and 12 gauge shotgun. I also chose to endure the painful Pepper-Mace/OC Training course. I terminated my employment with Force One Security Solutions and signed on with Dallas Patrol and Investigator. After some time with Dallas Patrol, I moved on to Texas Professional Security Services. In December of 2009, I officially received my Texas State Non Commissioned Officerâ??s License. In January of 2010, I was officially commissioned by the State of Texas as an Armed Officer.
In the very near future, I have intentions of going through the training for the Texas State Level IV, PPO (Personal Protection Officer), Training (the highest level of certification within the civilian sector). I also plan on furthering my education with classes in the field of criminal justice. In the long range spectrum, I am considering options including Private Military Contractors, High Level Protective Services Companies, Drug Enforcement Administration, Special Weapons And Tactics, and Law Enforcement.

Well, first of all, I don't like writing about myself. When it comes to putting words down, it always seems like I am selling myself. I am just a down to earth kind of gal. I usually have fun no matter what I am doing. I would like to get to know some people my age in Grapevine-area.

Well, I've been putting this off for as long as I can, but I guess it's finally time to get it done. Welcome to my new and "improved" (I use that term loosely) updated profile. Hopefully, I can more accurately portray myself in this one.

If you're looking for something extraordinary or anywhere near perfect, keep looking. I'm definitely average at best.
I do, however, believe I have a few redeeming qualities. Just can't seem to think of what they are at the moment. lol
Okay, so on to the mediocrity.

I'm a night owl. I love to stay up all night, then crawl out of bed around noon. I get that second wind after dark and have a tough time getting to bed before sunrise. Unfortunately, work gets in the way of that all too often.
I'm a kid at heart, always have been, always will be. I play video games, watch cartoons, love comics books and toys. The only difference in my toys now and the ones I had when I was a kid is the price.

I love movies, but I don't like going to the movies. I'd rather stay home and watch them on TV or my computer. Which, btw, is about my most expensive toy. I built it as a monster game machine. I like all kinds of movies..horror,action, sci fi, comedy, you name it..even those corny date movies.

I have a few tatts, which I put in places I can hide should I need to look "respectable", although that's something I try not to do.

I have a closet full of concert crew shirts and a drawer full of backstage passes from years of working as a stagehand. They are some of my most prized possessions.

Winter is my favorite time of year. I love the cold weather and getting to break out my leather jacket. Just never get enough time to wear it in my opinion.

I'm not into the club scene or bars much. I like to catch a buzz once in a while, but never been a big drinker. That room spinning thing has never been worth it to me. I can be convinced to go out and see a live band or hang out at a little hole in the wall bar. You can definitely build some confidence in your pool playing ability taking me on. If the goal was to see how long you could not get a ball in the pocket, I'd be world champ.

As far as music goes, I'm pretty much into the rock stuff, mostly flipping from the new to classic, or alternative rock stations, but I have been known to hit the Mesquite schools radio and listen to that 70's stuff where Paul Simon tells us the "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover".

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, that and Christmas..gotta love the gift giving ones. Not that I'm just into getting presents, I have just as much fun shopping for others too. Of course, I usually pick up something for myself while I'm out doing that. lol

I like long talks late into the night, mexican food and margaritas, roaming around Half Price Books, making fun of...well just about anything, going to the grocery store at 2am, and love Whataburger ketchup.

I love to read, but haven't gotten to do a lot of that in the last few years. Usually it's fantasy, or horror stuff when I do.

Best Buy is one of my favorite stores. None of my friends will even go there with me anymore because I'm so hard to get out of there.
When I get into something, I tend to go all the way, not quite obsessive about it, but close. I filled two bookshelves with DVD's before I finally started downloading them. haha

I have probably better than average computer skills, but nowhere near geek status.

I'm not really the crowd type. In a group of people I don't know, I'll be the most quiet one there. I'm much more talkative in a "one on one" situation.

I know this has all been pretty random, but so am I.

What am I looking for?..Well about the same things that everyone else says they are...that best friend. I am a world traveler that is just settling down in Dallas for some fun in the sun. Howdy y'all. I am new to Texas so I am trying out this howdy and y'all thing. It doesn't really sound right but I am hoping I will develop an accent eventually. Everybody likes an accent right?

I don't feel like my personality ever comes out very well in these things. I can tell you what I am like but it isn't the same. I am a wacky, friendly, driven, happy, offensive, funny, easy going, nice guy. : ) I work a lot.

I love golf and would spend every second playing it if I could, and someday hopefully I will be able to as soon as my company takes off and I have millions and millions of dollars. In the mean time I will just keep working. I try to stay really active. I competed in a triathlon a few months ago. I play either basketball or tennis a couple of times a week. I study/practice Jiu-Jitsu about 3 times a week. I read a lot. I like technology. I like my GPS and my MP3 player and my lap top and my blackberry. I love to travel however I haven't gone very far recently.

I am from Salt Lake City originally (but I'm not Mormon which is weird in Utah) then moved to Las Vegas for about 5 years (but I'm not a gambling addict, an alcoholic, or a big partier, which is weird in Vegas)and moved to Dallas about 6 months ago to open my own business.

First off my name's Amanda. I am currently vet tech and attending college. I am not sure what my profession is going to be but I am leaning towards nursing. I was on drill team in High School and competed with dance from the time I was in 1st grade until I graduated high school. I have an older sister, a 3 yr old neice and 1 yr old nephew. I love country and rap music! I know they are 2 completely different types of music but I love it.. I am very much into sports. My dad has been coaching all of my life. Baseball and football are my favorites. I just got into hockey and I don't really like basketball. I watch "stupid" t.v. shows. I am obsessed with Grey's Anatomy. I love Hell's Kitchen and all of the crime scene shows like CSI and Law and Order. I love all types of food. Sushi is my favorite. I am always up for trying new things. I love animals. I have 2 lab mixes. I will not pass a hungry animal and leave it to die. I recently rescued a starving pitbull. We did the best we could for him but unfortunately he was sick and we put him down. I would like to think we made his last 3 days of life the greatest he had though.
